Soft Modding your WII

Soft Modding your WII

There are a lot of modchips available for the wii
Problem is you have to open the wii and start fitting new parts
Me and Wozzer have found the best way to play Backup/Copy Games
Softmod
All you do with this is copy a few files to the SD card put it in the WII and run them
This copies all the hack files you need and you dont open the wii
You can make a backup of your wii with the files, that way if it bricks then you can reset it to factory settings
With the Homebrew software you can even download hundreds of games direct to the wii itself
You can then play original and backup games, or go online if you want
To play copy games all you do is put the game in and click the disc pic on the wii, the same as you do with legit copies

To Softmod the wii takes about 20-30 mins and anyone can do it
There are tutorials on how all over the net

The best one me and Woz found was here
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faq ... y-wii.html
It even has vidoes you can follow

We now have a collection of 471 games and growing

If anyone wants more info on Softmodding thev give myself or Wozzer a shout

Best place to grab some Wii games, if you're a member, is BitGamer. They have alphabetically arranged Wii game packs which are Golden Torrents, meaning they're free leech. I'm downloading the last of them after over a month, so I've got probably 90% of the available Wii games that are out there now.

FYI, for those who are on the 4.2 firmware, this guide worked for me without a single problem:

http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faq ... menus.html

All the files mentioned in this guide have been stuffed into a RAR file, along with an offline copy of the guide webpage and instructions on which files to use first, second, etc. You can grab that here:

If you're nervous about softmodding your Wii, JUST DO IT! I finally did, and I'm loving it!
